Best Ever Celebrity Publicity Stunt #10: Tracy Shaw at Kwik Save

To kick start this Top Ten we head up to the North of England to meet someone who was a massive star at the time, but this shambolic photo op signaled their decline into booze, illness and erm, kind-of incest.

Tracy Shaw was at the time, Coronation Street's brightest star - but this store opening, Kwik Save in Essex (£5000 and all the melons you can eat) was AMAZINGLY dreadful.

Shortly before this, Tracy was in the papers for having a pissed-up fight with her husband on a plane - but sadly there were low points as well.

She spent £100,000 in a year on cocaine (according to Darren Day) and then went on to strip off in the play 'The Blue Room' which was panned and led to the end of her marriage.

She was described by a nice friend as "almost looking like a pterodactyl".

Tracy joined the long line of ex-soap stars with an overblown sense of their own importance, but not all of them went on to marry their stepbrother like Tracy did.
