WHAT IF ALL AWARD SHOWS WERE LIKE THIS?

IFTAs 2012: someone finally gets a winners list right, Fassbender and Gosling score!

It was the IFTAs on Saturday night (the Irish Film & Television Awards), which was obviously totally overshadowed by some other stuff going on over the weekend. We demand it some attention now though; it might have been the only award ceremony to have come anywhere near close to choosing the absolutely correct winners (in our completely objective opinion, having not seen The Artist or Iron Lady).

Unfortunately Ryan Gosling wasn't available to pick up his prize, although we do have Laura Whitmore, Brian O'Driscoll, Amy Huberman, Dawn Porter and Chris O'Dowd. Sheesh, Gosling, if the IFTAs are the only people to recognise your stupendous talent, you could at least go.

We should probably look at the winners list beyond Gosling, Fassbender and the The Guard now, just on the off chance the IFTAs isn't the most respectable award ceremony in the world...
