FLICK THE BIRD!

The week in style: HM fashion round-up, 18 November 2011

Something's definitely amiss this week - mainly style. We're blaming Twilight. Let's blame Twilight for everything, particularly the delays on the Central Line and poor state of education in the country. While the film's young stars dressed-up for the Breaking Dawn launch like their lives depended on it, everyone else looked sort of meh. Look at Blake Lively, for instance - she managed to make Chanel Couture look like Dorothy Perkins, while even our beloved Drew Barrymore and Emma Stone seemed a little frumpy in florals. Olivia Wilde made the same mistake, but then she made up for it in a pretty  cut-out black frock. Our favourite, LBD - and possibly outfit - of the week, however, went to Felicity Jones in her Carolina Herrera number.

Elsewhere, Ashlee Simpson didn't bother with dressing up as she had a new hair-cut to show off, Elle McPherson did her usual 'look, I have long legzzz' trick, Kirsten Dunst wore a tent, Kristin Cavallari reminded us all of the 'only wear full-on eveningwear if you've definitely got a ride' rule, Andrea Riseborough and Elizabeth Olsen both added bulk to their petite frames with awkward waist-lines, Kelly Rowland showed off her boobs for the kids, Charlize Theron and Amanda Seyfried looked radiant in white, Kylie looked frozen, Zoe Kravitz looked vampy Versace for H&M, Coco Rocha looked brilliant, Zooey Deschanel had her comfort blanket, Chloe Moretz looked luckier than us at 14 and Kim Cattrall looked like she might have problems peeing in Stella McCartney. Not that we're suggesting she normally has a bladder problem, obviously.

Well done, Flick Jones. To everyone else, we're not cross, just disappointed.
