Adriana Lima's in a bikini on the beach, but who's the Adriana behind the mask?

Adriana Lima is a supermodel with a taste for the finer things in life. She likes her cars fast, her men handsome and her islands partially inhabited. She prefers a sunset to a sunrise, her favourite colour is teal and she's a vegetarian because she thinks meat is cruel (although she occasionally eats shellfish).

She's always had trouble pronouncing the word ambulance and finds men who read books in public to be a real turn-on. Her favourite film is Finding Nemo and while she doesn't exactly believe in extraterrestrial or supernatural life, she doesn't want to rule it out.

Once when she was small she fell off a horse and broke her ankle, which has left a scar on her foot that she thinks looks like the symbol for Cancer, her starsign. She doesn't smoke, but sometimes after a few drinks she will share a cigar with her father, a man who originally held a high position in the Peruvian military. His name is Alan.

Until she was 15, like many girls Adriana wanted to be a marine biologist, but the death of a close family friend in a boating accident left her with an unnatural fear of the water, a fear she has only recently overcome.

Adriana has two dogs, pugs, called Aloysius and Caramel (because of his golden coat) and a cat called Cheeky Tom. While she loves working as a model, she knows it's not forever and eventually hopes to be able to retire from the industry and concentrate on her true passion, donkeys, and intends to open up a sanctuary on the island of Saint Lucia.
