Sinead O’Connor says Gary Barlow is horrible to contestants on X Factor

Taking a break from talking about bum sex on Twitter, Sinead O’Connor is having a go at Gary Barlow for being a nasty bastard to the contestants on the X Factor. And just like with the bum sex thing, we totally agree with her.

Sinead is concerned with the way the show appears to have no respect or tact when it comes to dealing with more emotionally and mentally fragile individuals:

“'I don't think the people running the show are the kind of people who think about the effect of their behaviour upon people.”

But her ire is mainly reserved for ‘head judge’ Gary Barlow:

“That guy Gary Barlow he has this horrible way of looking at people. If he was my son I'd be having a serious word with him about the way he's talking to people or treating people. I find it excruciating to look at.”

Which is brilliant for many reasons. Firstly we’re loving that she refers to him as “that guy Gary Barlow” and secondly, the idea of Sinead O’Connor being Gary’s mum, and telling him off, is amazing. In fact, the idea of Sinead O’Connor telling anyone off, is pretty awesome.

Of course, she has a point here, whether they’re inviting that batty lady back, or feeding Frankie Cocozza’s lack of self-awareness, the X Factor does rather have a habit of leaving a wake of broken people. Just look at Matt Cardle: just over a year ago he was just some potato-faced man in a hat. Now he’s an unstoppable tsunami of conspiracy theories and yellow-trouser-related regrets.

We’d like to hear Sinead’s opinion on SyCo applying to copyright the name Rhythmix, despite it being the name of a children’s music charity. Would she be more horrified at that guy Simon Cowell taking it from the kiddies, or the fact that anyone, ever, anywhere, thought Rhythmix was a good name for something? Tweet us, Sinead.
