Russell Brand allegedly likes Zooey Deschanel, might have mistaken her for Katy Perry

Katy Perry and Zooey Deschanel don't really look that similar, although they're both, like totally kooky and have hair, legs and a face, so it's quite easy to compare them. If a man had a 'type', he might like both of them.  Or if a man was a sex addict and had no 'type', he might also like both of them. 

So, talking to OK! Magazine, a source claimed the recently-separated Brand likes the recently-divorced Deschanel, so much so that he's been sending her 'flirty' texts. The insider said:

“Russell has had his eye on Zooey for a long time. And he’s been sending funny, flirty texts to see if they can get together. He thinks she’s hysterically funny and cute too. He loves her quirky sense of humor and thinks they’d be great together both on and off screen. There’s a real spark there.”

"[Zooey's] heard about his reputation as a womanizer, and isn’t sure whether she’s ready to rush into another relationship so quickly.

"[She] thinks it would kinda freaky to team up with Russell, especially so soon after both their marriages have just ended.

“Who knows whether it’s Russell’s warped mind working overtime, or if he has other motives for wanting to get together with Zooey… but now that she and Russell are both available, there’s nothing to stop them from getting together!”

This 'celebs going out with new partners who look vaguely like their old partners' trend is obviously brilliant because it means Jamie Hince could hook up with Gillian Taylforth in future, Angelina Jolie could end up with Justin Lee Collins,  Peaches Geldof's fella could have sexy time with Harry Redknapp and Kelly Preston could find love with Ke$ha.

Anyway, we've suggested that Brand tries the actress Lizzy Caplan if things don't work with Deschanel. She looks sorta similar, no? We have no idea if she's into wheelchair porn though.
