Mark Wahlberg says he would've prevented 9/11 because he's hard, promptly apologises
When celebrities appear on the front of Men's Health magazine they generally have to say something inspirational about being fit rather than a cute anecdote about the time they tickled Christian Bale with a feather. Take Marky Mark, for instance. He's so pumped up he could've prevented 9/11. Just by storming the cockpit and putting the terrorists to sleep with a screening of The Happening. No, by wrestling them, obviously.
Talking to Men's Health about the fact that he'd originally been booked on the doomed United Airlines Flight 175, Marky Mark said:
"If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn't have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, 'OK, we're going to land somewhere safely, don't worry.'"
This offended a few people, such as the families of the people who died on the plane, so Wahlberg backtracked in a statement to TMZ, explaining:
"To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with. I deeply apologise to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention."
Mark Wahlberg really wishes he could fly, but he's like a peacock instead...
