Kate Winslet linked to Leonardo DiCaprio, Sam Mendes to Rebecca Hall
Now that Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes have announced their separation and impending divorce, the tabloids are in a frenzy to romantically link them to fellow celebrities that both have worked with on more than one occasion. Mendes is reportedly being comforted (euphemism for having sex with) by actress Rebecca Hall and Winslet consoled by former co-star Leonardo DiCaprio, obviously...
Apparently Winslet had become 'increasingly frustrated' with Mendes's 'closeness' to Rebecca Hall. The director had recently cast the 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' actress in two of his theatre projects (i.e definitely doing it) in London and New York.
A source apparently close to Winslet said:
"When Kate found out that Sam had grown close to Rebecca she was upset. Rebecca is totally Sam's type - a thespian mix of brains and beauty."
Someone shoot that source, please.
Meanwhile, Winslet is apparently being comforted by Leonardo DiCaprio (because they starred as lovers in two films) despite the fact that she is now in Mexico being comforted by Emma Thompson (literally this time, they're not lezzing up - as far as we're aware, anyway).
Another source, less pompous than the first one, said:
"Since Kate's marriage started to go south, around the time they were filming Revolutionary Road, they've [DiCaprio and Winslet] got closer again. Kate has always really adored Leo and feels like she can tell him anything.
"They were thrust into stardom together and were the only people who knew what the other was going through. He's been a rock for her."
Before finally adding:
"Leo and Kate have been like brother and sister."
Which is probably just one of the reasons that they haven't been shagging...

She dumped her first husband to hitch up with the better-known and better-connected Mendes so she's climbing the social ladder steadily. Who's next? Cameron? Tarantino? Michael Winner??

Really don't see Winslet as being DiCaprio's type. She's not 6 feet tall and doesn't model lingerie and bikinis for a living. She's like the heavier "best friend" who's pinning for the popular boy.
Leo is gay, his boyfriend's name is Luke Haas. Kate has indeed been "lezzing it up" as Mr Moly says but not to my knowledge with Emma Thompson. This is obviously a press release from her PR to deflect from whatever is really going on as is typical.
So Rebecca Hall is just his type, "brains and beauty" One wonders what Rebecca's type is, balding, greying, bearded, loaded?
Oh well, how sad for them all, but on another and far more relevant level I'd far rather 'comfort' Winslet than Hall I suppose.
